Bye bye, Loewe!
Big things are happening in fashion. One of the most notable events being JW Anderson departing Loewe to replace Grazia Chiuri at Dior. Although Dior is in need of his more than magical touch, I’m mourning his departure. Anderson elevated Loewe from a Spanish leather goods brand to a fashion unicorn.
He aesthetically branded Daniel Craig’s transition from his iconic tenure as agent 007 to a bohemian, British silver fox (which he has always been in my eyes). His designs beg motifs of classic socialites, like JFK Jr., fused with playful surrealism. Anderson’s artistic vision defined Loewe as a feeling of nostalgia for a place long ago, like a serene villa in Tuscany or a Bel-Air tennis court on a cloudless day. With crisp tailoring and bold silhouettes, only for him would I wear florals for spring with his Anthurium Flower top. Loewe’s look became high brow, yet fun, quirky and never stuffy. I hate to see him go, but I love watching him leave. So in order to celebrate his impending Dior domination, let’s look at some of my favorite looks he made during his 11 years at Loewe. Also, I wonder how Luca Guadagnino is doing…anyways, see the looks below!
